Greene County has earned state certification as a “Work Ready Community,” Governor Sonny Perdue’s office announced last week. a2b Fulfillment in the Greene County Industrial Park has used the certification program in a different way.
Sarah Latz, human resources director, and the warehouse staff all took the computerized assessment, including the talent portion. The certification project has helped in a number of ways, she said. “It made the employees feel good about themselves once they saw where they placed in the assessment; it identified their natural talents, and it identified their weaknesses.”
Latz has already promoted employees based on the assessment findings; and has encouraged other workers got more education or training in areas where they might be weak.
